Ch.6  YOM YHWH

Isaiah 13:6-13

Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt:

And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them;

they shall be in pain as a woman that travails:

they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger,

to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light:

the sun shall be darkened in his going forth,

and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity;

and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease,

and will lay low the vanity and scorn of the terrible.

I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold;

even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place,

in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Yom YHWH is translated as the “The Day of the Lord” of which there are 16 verses within the King James Bible and in hebrew written as יוֹם יְהוָה. There are various alternative writing for Yom YHWH which describe historical events such as the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and Titus of Rome as well as future events of which have not yet occurred.

The Day of the Lord is always accorded as a day of destruction and furious wrath,

“For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.” Isaiah 34:2-3

“The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,” Zephaniah 1:14-15

“In that day the LORD will punish, With His great, cruel, mighty sword Leviathan the Elusive Serpent – Leviathan the Twisting Serpent; He will slay the Dragon of the sea.” Isaiah 27

One might wonder why is God so angry? The Day of the Lord always occurs after long expanses of time of God’s long suffering and patience for sinners. YHWH always warns people through prophets to turn from their ways as He will not forever put up with the sins of the nations and will always end up destroying the nations who choose to remain in ignorance, defiance, and iniquity.

This fact is well documented throughout history, although the historians do not attribute the destruction of nations to God’s anger, but to rulers of the time.

“And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.” Zephaniah 1:17

“Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it.” Isaiah 13:9

“Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.” Isaiah 24:6

For the future we have one more Yom YHWH awaiting mankind. This final Day of the Lord is recorded by Jesus to be the time of the greatest destruction facing mankind before He returns to take his reign as rightful Messiah and King to all nations.

Whether you believe that Jesus is HaMashiach as foretold for centuries by many prophets, one thing is for certain, the wrath of God upon all nations at the final battle of Armageddon through the opening of the Seven Seals by Jesus.

You can choose to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved, or simply hope you do not live in this time. Many believe today that this generation will be the generation that witnesses Yom YHWH. It’s possible, and many preachers on the pulpit use this as fear mongering.

However, if you are Christian you have no need to fear. The dread and destruction of the Lord is reserved for sinners who choose to remain unrepentant on His great day of wrath to crush evil from the face of the earth.

The usual question is, “How is God just if He kills billions of people?”

Again, YHWH has allowed humanity a time of repentance before releasing His wrath upon those within the alloted millenia. If you are told to be at an appointment no later than 8am and you show up at 8:10am and the doors are shut, do you expect to get in? If you are warned not to get on a plane, and you do anyway, do you mourn for everyone crashing with you?

When a person says such statements, “God is unjust to kill,” they do not realize that death is of the world. That we all must die in the flesh. Is it unjust to die? Is it unjust that the creator of all things has set a time frame of when you will die? Moreover, how can you, who cannot understand immortality, the basic renderings of righteous judgment, let alone the number of cells within your body, question God who has made all things?

As humans we tend to regard our own little world that we live in as an important point of view. That our opinion really does matter, when communicating about what we believe and how we think at any given moment.

As Christians we should be beyond petty questions and statements of vanity. We understand what the world is about and who controls it. We understand the motivations of men in power over the masses and the long awaited destruction of cultures who serve beneath them. The difference now is understanding the wisdom and mysteries as given thousands of years ago.

To see the culmination of God’s plan for mankind is not a detriment for a Christian, but an awaiting of salvation for eternity, while all those who reject YHWH and His anointed receive their divine declaration of judgment, but it doesn’t have to be that way for you.

It’s a choice. One the fallen angels hope you never make. One they will use every desire, lust, enticement, to manipulate and deceive your mind to ensnare your soul to everlasting destruction. It is my hope that God’s light will shine through.

That maybe this writing will help you understand that the grace of God awaits your decision to receive it. God’s anointed, Jesus of Nazareth, has already paid the price for your sin to keep you from this eternal destruction, to aid you if you are in Yom YHWH.

The choice is yours, accept the pardon of your soul through the sacrifice of HaMashiach, or give it to the world and the fallen. If you are uncertain what sin is and how it must be paid for, please visit the chapter Avodah and you will learn what is hidden from society; kept from the classrooms of our youth, shunned in college university, to keep you in the dark for the damning of your soul.

God always provides a light, a way of redemption, as He is now, for those who read this.

There are categories that each of us will fit into during the Day of the Lord. Once you’re in this period, your fate will be summed up in one of several ways. It’s not like now, where you have a choice to go shopping, go to church, go to college, or pretty much do what you want, or think they way you want to think.

It’s the time when thought is no longer yours to be had. The time when the second amendment no longer exists and clear sides must be chosen – similar to what my family Zawada suffered under Hitler.

A time Hitler envisioned as the world of a master race, with one leader, one religion, in which if you do not follow – you are kareth or cut off from society, money, food, and shelter. A social outcast, a pariah; once loved by your friends, now hated due to your religious stance or choice.

During the time of Yom YHWH mankind will have limited options when it comes to personal belief. The fallen angels will rule on earth and those who oppose their will are hunted and executed globally by all nations who serve them. You either serve the antichrist and his minions or you are hunted to be executed, similar to how my family was rounded up in Europe under Hitler.

Matthew, Mark & Luke ET Study

The New King James Version, which is easier to read for those who no longer live in the 17th century lays out paragraph headings in Matthew, Mark, and Luke for easy contemplation of what the Messiah is explaining will occur for Israel and the human race with the end result being the final Yom YHWH. The list below allows quick access for biblical reference.

Matthew

Mark

Luke

Now the confusion abounds with the many theories based on the reading of the Gospels of how and when Yom YHWH comes about. However, on these three accounts of the words of HaMashiach, we are given insight into a different time other than the coming destruction of Titus of Rome as scholars view as the Yom YHWH.

The Messiah and Navi throughout the centuries have made clear that there will be a Yom YHWH at the end of the age we live. The modern eschatological argument is the digression of historical events from both theory and speculation of what is going to happen in the future.

This has been the conundrum of all biblical prophecy; what theologians think will happen in the future, based off understanding the past through current archaeological data as God grants to us.

The Great Tribulation, or Day of the Lord of Matthew, Mark, and Luke describe both the coming destruction of Titus and the destruction of all nations at the end of the age. It is our responsibility to discern which Gospel is speaking about the two Yom YHWH to come.

In the four Gospels, God grants us insight of the narrative for both history and the future, according to Gabriels 70 weeks given to Daniel, the summary of all prophecy concerning Israel, and the multiple Yom YHWH to come after the Prince of David enters Jerusalem. Since we are concerned about the future of modern Israel, we will discuss the Day of the Lord from the time of the last Temple destruction, which as you know, occurred in 70 AD.

We will call this Yom YHWH 1 & 2:

  1. The destruction of Jerusalem by Titus of Rome.
  2. The destruction of Jerusalem by Onpiov Moshiach.

Here we will review each Gospel and lay out what Adonai is saying about Yom YHWH to those who have ears to hear.

Gospel of Luke

Within the narrative of the great historian Luke, we find Yom YHWH as referring to the coming destruction of Titus of Rome, rather than the end of the age through Onpiov. Luke 21:20-24,

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”

Clearly above happened historically when Titus and four roman legions laid siege to Jerusalem less than forty years after Jesus gave the “signs of the times” lecture.

The difference between the gospels of Matthew and Mark is the “and be led away captive into all nations,” as this phrase is describing diaspora for Israel for the next two thousand years and is not found within Matthew or Mark. This is the first Yom YHWH that Jesus is talking about and coincides with Ezekiel 7:1-4,

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel:

‘An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.
Now the end has come upon you,
And I will send My anger against you;
I will judge you according to your ways,
And I will repay you for all your abominations.
My eye will not spare you,
Nor will I have pity;
But I will repay your ways,
And your abominations will be in your midst;
Then you shall know that I am the Lord!’

Ezekiel 7:14-15

‘They have blown the trumpet and made everyone ready,
But no one goes to battle;
For My wrath is on all their multitude.
The sword is outside,
And the pestilence and famine within.
Whoever is in the field
Will die by the sword;
And whoever is in the city,
Famine and pestilence will devour him.

And this is exactly what happened. When Titus besieged the city for four months, no one came out arrayed for battle. Over a hundred thousand people died from famine and the sword. Approximately 8,400 men under John of Gischala and 15,000 under Simon bar Giora mounted a defense within the city against the attacking Romans as previously discussed and can be read about here.

Anti-Biblical academia try to point out the facts of what we Christians and Jews fully understand, that Luke is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem during his life time and that this is the Yom YHWH as known through Judaic literature.

Secular academia are not familiar with Yom YHWH scripture in Yisheyah, Yermiyah, Yechezchial, Yoel, Amos, Ovadiyah, Tzefaniyah, Zechariyah, and Malachi. How could they be?

They do not study eschatology or all the passages concerning Yom YHWH. They are just critics of things they do not understand.

Gospel of Matthew & Mark

In the Gospel of Matthew we see Yom YHWH is about the destruction of nations,

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” Matthew 24:15-22

The key phrase from Jesus HaMashiach here is,

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

This passage tells us this is the final Yom YHWH as written by Nevi’im – the prophets. According to Jesus, this is the greatest tribulation period for mankind since the beginning of the world and that there will never be another time greater than this tribulation upon the earth.

Both the Gospel of Matthew and Mark state,

“And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

YHWH tells us through His angels and to the prophet Daniel exactly how long this “tribulation period” will be,

“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.” Daniel 12:11-12

One of the main questions one might have is whether Yom YHWH is an actual day, a week, a year, perhaps a millennia?

The english translation for YOM means DAY, but is this just one day? We know the siege of Jerusalem took four months and this was a Yom YHWH as according to scripture. So what do the prophets tell us about the last Day of the Lord?

Zechariah 14

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken, the houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west, making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.

Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.

Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You.

It shall come to pass in that day that there will be no light;
The lights will diminish. It shall be one day
Which is known to the Lord – neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen that it will be light.

And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem,
Half of them toward the eastern sea
And half of them toward the western sea;
In both summer and winter it shall occur.
And the Lord shall be King over all the earth.
In that day it shall be “The Lord is one,”
And His name one.

The passage of Zachariyah (around 520 BC) is of utmost importance for future events and determines what, in that day, means. In the prophecy, YHWH makes known that a remnant of Israel will escape the doom coming upon Jerusalem through an earthquake splitting the Mount of Olives in two, to the north and south, opening a valley for escape as the armies of the world come to destroy her.

In that day,” is spoken four times in the chapter and we are told this is one day, not a long expanse of time. The prophecy also states that the day is not like any other day in history, but a day where there is “neither day nor night.”

Jesus said of this day, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Matthew 24:29

“Multitudes upon multitudes in the Valley of Decision! For the day of the LORD is at hand in the Valley of Decision. Sun and moon are darkened, and stars withdraw their brightness. And the LORD will roar from Zion, and shout aloud from Jerusalem, so that heaven and earth tremble. But the LORD will be a shelter to His people, a refuge to the children of Israel.” Joel 4:14-16

We also see that this day happens, “In both summer and winter it shall occur,” which means this may happen in the month of Tishrei (Sep/Oct) which is when Yom haKippurim, or the Day of Atonement is observed, the most holy day of the year. In 2019 we observed Yom Kippur starting at dusk Oct 8th in which we fast for twenty five hours to afflict ourselves before YHWH according to mitzvot.

“This is to be a perpetual statute for you. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you must humble yourselves and do no work of any kind, both the native citizen and the foreigner who resides in your midst, for on this day atonement is to be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; you must be clean before the Lord. It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a perpetual statute. This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.” Leviticus 16:29-31,34

In 1973, the Arab Coalition attacked Israel on Yom Kippur, led by Egypt and Syria, resulting in a humiliating defeat for the Coalition.[66] Historically and Biblically, attacking Israel on Yom Kippur is a bad strategy. So does Yom YHWH coincide with Yom Kippur? Perhaps the day of destruction can be perceived as the day of cleansing Israel and the world of sin, as that is the purpose of the Day of Atonement – “to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins.”

“Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.” Isaiah 13:9-13

Mount of Olives

The prophecy from Zechariah states,

“And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.”

The Mount of Olives is where Jesus gave His famous sermon, the Olivet Discourse, which included:

  • The destruction of Beit HaMikdash (Holy Temple) and Jerusalem.
  • Signs of the times & end of the age.
  • The Tribulation.
  • Messiah & angels gather His elect.
  • The Parable of the Fig Tree.
  • The hour of the Lords return.
  • The faithful and evil servant.

The Chapel of the Ascension currently sits atop the Mount of Olives, which is traditionally believed to house the last footprint of Christ.

“The Frankish bishop and pilgrim Arculf, in relating his pilgrimage to Jerusalem in about the year 680, described this church as “a round building open to the sky, with three porticoes entered from the south. Eight lamps shone brightly at night through windows facing Jerusalem. Inside was a central edicule containing the footprints of Christ, plainly and clearly impressed in the dust, inside a railing.”[67]

When the Mount of Olives splits in half from Jesus HaMashiach landing back from where he ascended, the valley created through the Mount will provide an escape for the inhabitants of Jerusalem as the worlds armies attack from the north and south.

Valley of Escape

The Jezreel valley erupts as the last battlefront of our age. This is the battle of Armageddon.

It’s a two hour drive from Mt. Tabor to the Dome of the Rock, granting time for people to escape through the valley that Jesus makes upon His return as mechanized armies advance south on route 6 and route 60.

“I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.”

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:2,14

Attacking Armies

“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog (Turkey) comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence.

The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’Ezekiel 38:18-23

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.”

“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

“And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.” Revelation 16:12,16,18-20

Jezreel valley, just North of Mount Megiddo is where the armies will be forced to maneuver. As seen in the pics below, this is a huge valley plain, perfect for mechanized infantry and mass tank battle.[68]

Jezreel Valley from Mt. Tabor & Mt. Carmel

Many believe those fleeing the battle will head to Fort Masada as the Israelites did in AD 70 after the destruction of Beit HaMikdash. This is a solid day walk from Jerusalem through desolate territory.

Seeing that Masada is prone to aerial carpet bombing, I believe that everyone will be hiding in the numerous caves dotting the area as according to Revelation 6:15,

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;”

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:13-14

Now that you have an understanding of the last Yom YHWH, the end of this age and the end of society as we know it, we can move on to an understanding of the Revelation of Christ. The Apocalypse of John the Apostle of which the Day of the Lord and the battle of Armageddon wrap up the cultures of this world and determines the fate of all humanity.
